Agenda

  1. Recording farmer suicides based on the preliminary report submitted by all Tehsildars.
  2. Submitting information regarding farmer suicides to the government and the Hon’ble Divisional Commissioner, Amravati, based on the preliminary report.
  3. Requesting funds from the government to provide financial assistance to the legal heirs of eligible cases as per the farmer suicide criteria.
  4. Disbursing government-approved funds to the Tehsildars as per their requests for eligible cases.
  5. Maintaining records of government funds received for farmer suicide cases, including expenditure and remaining balance, and submitting a Utilization Certificate to the government after reconciliation with the Accountant General’s office.
  6. Informing all Tehsildars to conduct an in-depth investigation of suicide cases and submit proposals.
  7. Registering proposals received from Tehsildars regarding farmer suicide cases and organizing district-level committee meetings.
  8. Preparing minutes of the district-level committee meetings on farmer suicide cases and submitting them to the Hon’ble Divisional Commissioner, Amravati, concerned Tehsildars, officials/employees attending the meeting, and other relevant offices.
  9. Preparing a list of eligible and ineligible cases taluka-wise.
  10. Preparing monthly and annual reports on farmer suicides.
  11. Addressing applications and complaints received from the legal heirs of farmers who committed suicide.
  12. Submitting required information on farmer suicides within the stipulated time as requested by the government and higher authorities.
  13. Resolving Right to Information (RTI) requests related to farmer suicides within the prescribed time.
  14. Maintaining permanent records of orders related to farmer suicides.
  15. Resolving applications and complaints related to the Gopinath Munde Farmer Accident Insurance Scheme.
  16. Completing tasks assigned by senior officers within the prescribed timeframe.

As per the government decision (Revenue and Forest Department Order No. SCY-1205/Pr. No. 189/M-7, dated January 23, 2006), financial assistance is provided to the legal heirs of eligible farmers who have committed suicide.
