Establishment and Objectives-
Under the Mining and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Amendment Act 201, DMFs are not-for-profit trustee trusts which aim to work for the benefit and benefit of individuals and sectors affected by mining-related activities. is prescribed by the State Govt.
Scope-
The functioning of DMF falls under the purview of the concerned state government. Funds for DMF are collected at the district level. In the ‘DMF’ regulations of all states, certain high-priority sectors have been identified which are eligible to receive at least 60 per cent of the DMF funds. The use of the fund covers important and serious concerns like health services. Thus, DMF funds can be used to increase and improve health facilities, screening and testing facilities and essential resources.

Pradhan Mantri Khanijskheta Kalyan Yojana (PMKKY):
The objective of this program is to serve the people and areas affected by mining related activities with the help of funds designated by DMF.
Objectives of the Scheme:
- To implement developmental and welfare projects/programmes in mine affected areas in such a way as to complement the existing schemes/projects of the State and Central Governments.
- Minimize and control adverse impacts (during and after mining) on the environment, health and socio-economics of the people in the mining area.
- To obtain a long term source of income for the mining population.
According to the provisions of section 9 (b) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act-2015 and Government Notification dated 01/09/2016, each district has established a mineral establishment and notified its rules and procedures. According to this, in order to collect 10% contribution/funds of self-funding on subordinate minerals by establishing the District Mineral Institute, Amravati, a savings account has been opened in the name of the District Mineral Institute, Amravati, at State Bank of India, Branch Camp, Amravati, and its account no. is 37446174513.
